Happy Birthday, Daddy!

Wednesday, May 12, was also Shawn's 32nd birthday.
He went to work that morning while Joshua was at preschool, and he came home a little early that afternoon. [In the meantime, the kiddos drew him some special birthday cards to go along with the gifts we had already purchased.] When Shawn got home, he & I left for 'happy hour' at Starbucks, where he got his favorite Java Chip Lite Frappucino with lite whip cream and no chocolate drizzle for half price. Then, he said the next thing he wanted to do was go the arcade at Park City. So, we played Time Crisis 3 together and had fun. We walked around Kohl's a little bit and then headed out for dinner. He chose to try the restaurant Ciro's off Fruitville Pike. Originally, we were planning on eating outside at one of our favorite restaurants, but the weather didn't cooperate. It was COLD and raining that whole day. So, we went to Ciro's, which we've seen several times but never tried before. It was authentic Italian and decently good even though it was a little pricey.
Meanwhile, Aunt Erica watched the boys for us. She & Joshua baked some special cinnamon dessert bread for Daddy (since we already had cakes from the night before). I asked Shawn if he wanted to see a movie or anything while we were out, but our timing was a little off. And there was nothing either one of us was dying to see. So, instead, we came home, ate dessert and I think they played the Wii, if I remember correctly.
I also gave Daddy his gifts from me & the boys. He seemed to enjoy them.

I am especially thankful that 32 years before he was born. He has been an amazing husband and incredible father. He's selfless with his transactions with others, a hard worker, compassionate, generous, thinks before he speaks, has a sweet spirit and so much more. We love him a lot!

Happy birthday, Shawn!
