Today at Dr. Devenyi's office, we found out how much both boys weigh in comparison to each other. Joshua took off his crocs and jumped right on the scale. He measured 32.6 pounds, his highest weight yet! Then Caleb - who always wants to be like big brother - took off his shoes and got on the scale. It showed that he weighs 29.4 pounds (both boys had their clothes on). So they weigh a difference of 3.2 pounds, but Joshua is taller than Caleb. Unfortunately, they didn't measure Joshua's height. So, we either have to get out our tape measure today or wait until he's 4-year well-check that will be coming up in September.
The doctor asked me a ton of questions regarding reflux for Joshua, trying to make sure he's not showing any symptoms. Even though they think he outgrew it, he wants to make sure that Joshua isn't suffering so he told me to keep watching for unexplained coughing, asthma attacks, difficulty chewing or swallowing, unexplained spitting up or vomiting, etc. So far, I haven't noticed anything like this. Praise God!
Then we talked about Joshua's difficulty with the potty, and the doctor's opinion is that Joshua is starting to sense when he needs to go and is going back to the pattern of trying to hold it. But, the laxative won't let him for more than a day or so. Thus, we need to continue the Miralax. If nothing has changed in six months, we're to call and schedule an appointment. But, the doctor thinks that as Joshua cognitively learns that he can go to the potty and it doesn't hurt anymore since he's got the medicine, he will eventually learn that everything's okay and his body will fix itself. Please continue to pray for him!
