Mamaw & Papaw In Town

After church on Sunday, we met up with Mamaw & Papaw, Aunt Missy & Uncle Kevin and their puppies at the East Lampeter park for a little while (unfortunately, I didn't have my camera with me!). Then we went home for naps as they set up their camper at the campground and then we met them for dinner later that night and more play time.
Monday night we were supposed to have family pictures taken with my side of the family, but unfortunately my sister got sick so we rescheduled (which worked out fine since it poured anyway). So, we met up with the Ginder's again for dinner and then they came back to our house to play. The boys were SO excited to have their grandparents in town. Papaw put on the George mask, and Caleb accidentally called him Grandpa George-ia. They said "No, this is Papaw from FLORIDA, if we're going by states."
Tuesday started out being one of those days where I was looking for something to do with the boys. I thought about taking them to the free movie at Regal, which happened to be Veggie Tales. But, I was concerned that Caleb wouldn't be able to sit through the entire thing, which would drive Joshua crazy if we had to leave. I kept doing more research and didn't come up with anything, so we just decided to go for a walk and play outside. While we were out, we got a call to see if we'd like to eat an early lunch at Pizza City in Strasburg. We said sure!
We enjoyed our pizza & cheese-steaks and then Papaw suggested we head to the Strasburg Park. I didn't even know where it was, but I followed them there. While the floor looks like stones, it was actually recycled rubber which was soft and scrunchy. Nobody else was there that day, and the boys enjoyed playing.
Caleb slid right down the slide, even though it had water on it. He didn't care. He slid very slowly and methodically.
In the meantime, Joshua let Papaw push him on the baby swing. Normally he doesn't care for swinging, but he had a blast that day. Papaw would pretend like Joshua was trying to kick him, and the Bean thought this was hysterical.
Caleb watched them from the top of the slide and laughed. The day was overcast, but it sure was HOT!
Once we were finished at the playground, Papaw told us to follow him to our next destination for a little treat. I never knew all these places in Strasburg had parking! We ended up at the Creamery for ice cream. And one scoop of ice cream there was almost an entire half gallon, it seemed. The boys enjoyed their dishes of chocolate ice cream, while I feasted on sweet cream & almonds. YUM!
When we were through eating, we toured the back of the shop and saw where they make homemade fudge, looked at the candy & treats, and saw the bees making honey right there. Then Papaw bought them each a buzz light year light-up toy (thanks!!!).
We went home for naps then, but the boys barely slept since it was later than usual. The following day, we met Grandpa Georgia for breakfast in the morning and then Aunt Erica came to visit with us.
More pictures & stories to come! For now, I better get packing for our weekend of camping!
