We could tell it had been "one of those days" when on Sunday night, he brought down his doll baby that Grandma & Grandpa Ginder had sent and was playing with it next to the dinner table as we were finishing cleaning up and I was feeding Caleb Luke. All the sudden as Joshua was playing, he said "No! Stop it!" then he spanked the baby on his bottom. After that he said, "Now! Time Out!" Shawn and I looked at each other appalled. Then we started to laugh. We didn't know if this was a sign we'd been too hard on him (which made us feel bad) or if this was just his way of expressing himself (which was really, REALLY funny). We asked him if the baby said sorry after his time out, and he gave his baby a hug. I don't think either one of us will soon forget this moment.
God blessed us with three beautiful boys. Joshua Douglas was born on 9/18/06, 15.75" long weighing 3 lbs 4 oz. He stayed in the N.I.C.U. four weeks before coming home & then had the lower section of his left lung removed. He's been doing well ever since! Caleb Luke was born on 7/8/08, 20.5" long weighing 7 lbs 12 oz. Ryan Josiah was born on 6/7/11, 20.25" long weighing 7 lbs 14 oz. Praise God for our miracle babies!

Time Out, Baby!
We had a rough weekend of discipline with the Bean. I think this goes in phases of really having to work with him and him pushing our limits and then days of angel-like behavior. The weekend was a constant struggle, and I must keep reminding myself that he's two. He won't always remember what we've been trying to instill in him; it's natural to not have any self-control, etc. But, that doesn't mean that this isn't the opportune time to teach him, correct him, and show him the way to behave.
