Leaf Us Alone!

One weekend in October, Shawn decided to try and get some yard work done (I say "try" and am sitting here giggling as I type). All three boys rushed out the door to be with Daddy. When I came out, I saw Ryan had taken his rake.
I honestly hadn't seen either of the older boys when I first walked out. They did a great job at hiding in the leaves and then POPPING! out to scare us!!!!
Ryan was trying to help hide them by pushing the leaves on top.
Since we took down our trees, we don't have as many leaves as we used to, but we still get them blown into our yard from the neighbors' trees. It makes for a fun afternoon (and a whole lot of work other days!!!).
The boys have been really into watching YouTube clips lately. Daddy will find silly ones on cute animals or help with Wii games that they get stuck on and there's a tutorial online. So, the boys have decided that they should get to make their own videos with our camera and watch them (they don't realize they're not "online" to see but they're watching them on our computer).
Here the boys are trying to set up the camera at different angles using our fence or the ground.
I took several pictures of Ryan - doesn't he look SO BIG?!?!
The Schnook decided to take a turn hiding with Caleb.
You can't even see Joshua, but he's in there, too. He's good at hiding! He scared me to death the first time I walked out!
Shawn realized he wasn't getting anything done, but he didn't seem to mind. The boys always come first to him. I love that about him (well, at least most days!).
Later in the fall, we actually hired a landscaping team to come out and trim back some of the brush behind our house (asking for advice on what to leave there to block noise from the school and what was just overgrown awfulness that needed to be removed). They also trimmed back all the bushes around our house and things we normally do in the fall but Shawn hasn't had time to do with traveling so much.
We had fun playing outside. It was nice this fall!
