Joshua's Birthday

On Joshua's birthday, Mamaw watched the younger boys in the afternoon so I could go to Joshua's school. The school asks for no cake or cupcakes and that it be something pre-packaged with no nuts or other allergies from the child's class. So, in reading all the ingredients of these rice krispie treats (which Joshua LOVES), I thought they were safe. I assumed the children would take them home to their parents who could say yes or no to eating the snack. But, it turned out that the teacher let them each consume one after recess.
I took a quick picture of Joshua at his desk on his birthday. He was SO excited!
I took in the book "Froggy Goes to School" to donate to the class and I got to read it to the whole group. Then Joshua got to choose his "helpers" to pass out the napkins for the snack and to hold the bag as he passed out the treats. He picked Abe (who was on his baseball team last year) and Macy. The other kids looked crushed that he didn't choose them, and I felt bad for the "picking." It stinks not to get picked!
That evening after dinner, we gave him his gifts from us to open.
The biggest one that he was excited for was the headphones Daddy got him. He was SO excited! We had given him other things, including a couple little things he picked out. But these headphones were the hit.
We had his party coming the following Saturday so his birthday didn't end there! :) More to come...
