Silly Songs with Joshua

When we tuck Joshua in at night, his favorite thing to do is a sing a 'silly song.' I think he and Daddy started this tradition, if I'm remembering correctly. We're trying to explain rhyming to Joshua so we make up little songs, and he laughs and laughs. Then he makes up his own. He asks for us to keep singing until we finally say "no more until tomorrow." Here are a few examples:

Mama was sleeping in her bed,
so Joshua came in and dumped water on her head.

The Bean came to breakfast late,
so Mama put underwear on his plate.

Daddy had a beautiful smile,
until he ate all the dirt on the pile.

Joshua was acting really sweet,
but then he asked Caleb to smell his stinky feet!

Joshua thinks these songs are hilarious. He especially loves anything with dirt, underwear and stinky anything. He is all boy! When we hadn't seen him smiling in a few days because of his accident, I sang him a silly song and he grinned. His smile is precious to me, and I so enjoy his laughter. And songs that rhyme are always a good time!
Two nights ago when we were coming up to bed, we checked on the boys (which is our typical routine). Joshua was closer to the edge than we'd like, and his blankets were a little whacky. So, Daddy gently pulled them off to fix them and we discovered that Joshua had fallen asleep in the above position, with his legs crossed. We laughed and I ran to get the camera. This is how Caleb had fallen asleep, with both hands stretched behind his head. We always adjust the blankets and make sure that they're snug as a bug in a rug before turning in for the night ourselves. I love our silly boys!
