A Friday in Florida

Friday, February 26, we woke up before 8 am (well, I did and then I opened the curtains for the sunshine to wake up my hubby). At my request, we went down together to use their exercise facility, which was nice. Someone was on the elliptical machine, so we took the treadmills, and I did some interval training while Shawn walked. When we first walked in there, we both yawned loudly, which cracked the guy up who was well into his workout. After we were done, we went upstairs to get ready and then headed down to enjoy the free breakfast together. Our timing was a little off, though, because a college baseball team was staying there too and had taken most of the food available. It wasn't a big deal - it's just food. We did get some scrambled eggs, sausage and an English muffin to make a little breakfast sandwich. We finished packing our things and were at Mamaw & Papaw's by 10 am. I was looking forward to seeing my little guys and how they were adjusting.

We found them having fun. Joshua found a little "New Testament" in Papaw's office that he loves to play with. And, of course, whatever big brother does is cool, so Caleb joined in the Biblical fun. :)

Caleb found the Redskins felt dart board in Papaw's office and LOVED playing with it!
We had wanted to eat at Harpoon Harry's, which is right on the water near Shawn's parents' house, for lunch. Papaw wanted to work, so we went in Mamaw's truck with her & the boys. But, Joshua was sad that Papaw wasn't there (and I could tell he was really tired). So, Mamaw decided to pull off and eat at Perkins instead near their house. Afterward, we went back to their house so the boys could nap and we took off and headed to our hotel in Sarasota. Shawn had booked it when we were originally supposed to fly in that night into the Sarasota airport, and since we had gotten a steal of a deal through priceline, we couldn't cancel it. So, we went to a couple open houses since the Parade of Homes was there that week, and then we went into the Courtyard by Marriott. Unfortunately, they were out of king rooms, and we had booked a double since the original plan was to have the kids with us that night. But, since they were settled at the grandparents house, we let it go.
Erica works in Sarasota and got off at 4 pm. Around 3 we talked about meeting at 4 at our hotel but somehow we ended up pulling into the restaurant closer to 5:30 pm. We ate at the Dutch Heritage to do something more local than a typical chain. :) :) :)
We all ate well and then we parted ways. Shawn & I stopped at Target afterward and then went back to the hotel room. The boys went back and played more with Mamaw, Papaw & Aunt Erica (affectionately called "Ah-rky" by Caleb... so cute!) before calling it a night. We got a call when Caleb was alseep and Joshua & Papaw were starting to wind down by reading.

The beds at the hotel were very comfortable, and Shawn & I slept well. Unfortunately, that ended another day in Florida... it just went too quickly!
