A Week with Grandma & Grandpa

On Sunday, we got an earlier-than-expected call that Grandma & Grandpa Ginder were in town. We were surprised to see a red Cadillac pull up to the front of the house. For the rest of the week, Joshua begged to ride in Papaw's "red car" ... our non-Cadillac variety was no longer good enough for his taste. :)

They came giving hugs and love, and they came bearing gifts. They replaced Joshua's broken sunglasses and gave Caleb his very own pair and other gifts (thanks so much!).We went out to lunch with them to the Freeze & Frizz and enjoyed some milkshakes, french fries, sandwiches and sunshine. Then they came to our house and visited while the boys napped. Thereafter, they left to get their own naps and we stopped in at Long's Park for a little bit to see our life group friends. They asked if they could keep Joshua over night that night, which worked well since I hadd asked if they would want to watch the boys so I could go birthday shopping with my mom. We headed to their "house" (as Joshua called the Comfort Inn & Suites where they stayed) with the Bean, his overnight bag, his blankey and his t-bear.Joshua was so thankful for his sunglasses and didn't want to take them off...even in darker rooms. He & Papaw are buddies. They talked on the phone and Joshua repeated everything Papaw would say (including asking if he wants a hot dog and then saying "Noooo, silly!").The other game they always play is Papaw goes to sleep and Joshua wakes him up with a boo!Joshua asked Grandma if she'd help Papaw. He's so sweet! What a great picture!Caleb also enjoyed exploring their room, and he played with their ice bucket. I'm sure he seemed a lot bigger than the last time they saw him. He played peekaboo, smiled, gave kisses and cruised around their room.He also wanted to see what Papaw was up to.
I love this next picture of Caleb & his big blue eyes. Daddy did a great job with the camera that night! Both boys were enjoying playing at "Mamaw & Papaw's house"... (in fact, we drove by there this past Sunday after they had left, and Joshua said 'bye-bye, Mamaw & Papaw's house...we giggled since they stay at a different hotel every time they come to town).Soon enough it was time for us to leave the Bean behind. I'm so thankful he loves it there, and yet I was sad since I enjoy tucking him in at night, etc. But, he has a great time and is safe and gets tons of attention, so that's what's important. So Caleb gave his bye-bye kisses...And we went home to sleep while Joshua stayed and slept there. And that ended Sunday... the rest of the week to come!
