Joshua's Preschool Thanksgiving Party

On Wednesday, November 25, Joshua's preschool class had a Thanksgiving party. Parents and siblings were invited to attend, and I was one of the moms that help set up and I brought Caleb with me, too. He was the only sibling there. The first picture is of what the kids said they were thankful for. Joshua said "leaves" and then "mama." I knew it was him saying it because most of the others say "mommy" but he still calls me "mama" which I think is precious. Another mom commented that her son said "Daddy" then "the cat." She said "HOW DID I GET BEAT OUT BY THE CAT? CAN YOU TELL IT'S  BEEN A ROUGH WEEK!?!?" We all giggled.

The kids feasted on turkey, cranberries, mashed potatoes, apple slices, corn, stuffing, rolls and butter. Most of the kids are eaters like Joshua (meaning they ate next to nothing). Joshua ate the roll with the butter the class had made together and then kept telling me how much he liked the turkey, which wasn't turkey at all but actually the cranberries!!! I couldn't believe it. But, he finished the whole pile of cut-up cranberries, drank his juice and was done.

They didn't offer anything to poor lil' Caleb to eat. I had assumed that when they said parents and siblings were invited to the Thanksgiving feast that everyone would partake. So, Caleb looked at the table longingly but didn't get anything but one of Joshua's apple slices. Poor little guy! I felt so bad for him.

Joshua & Caleb were both dressed up that morning. Joshua even had on a tie. :) The teacher commented that she loved his little outfit. Me, too! The shirt & tie were from Grandma, the cords were from Grandma & Grandpa Ginder, the sweater was one Grandpa Georgia bought him at a yard sale, the socks were borrowed from Grant and the Fireman shoes were purchased by Grandma. :) :) :)

Here are some random shots of the rest of his class. First, here's Mrs. Ford spreading butter.

And then here's the little girl Kate who told Mrs. Ford she didn't eat any of the rolls but just the butter itself.

And the whole class eating while we took pictures or the adults chatted.

And here is the turkey Joshua made that day out of playdough and a wax paper apple creation we brought home that day as well. Happy Thanksgiving, preschool!!!
