Ryan's 2nd Birthday

Ryan's 2nd birthday was Friday, June 7. Originally I was supposed to go watch Joshua's Kindergarten "Game Day" for an hour that morning, but it poured that morning so the event was postponed. I was glad, because I didn't really want to miss a minute of being with Ry-guy on his birthday.
That morning, Mamaw stopped in with a big box for Ryan to open!
Ryan started to rip open the paper (with some prompting). He liked the Mickey Mouse card!
Woody came in to help him with the wrapping paper.
It took Ryan awhile to get it all unwrapped.

Inside he found Elmo! He LOVES Elmo!!!
He was also excited to discover a scooter. He enjoys trying to play on his big brothers, and Mamaw bought him one that has two wheels in the back that he can try to ride with more stability. She even assembled it for him that morning.
While he played, I made him pancakes and bacon, which is what he requested for breakfast.
He loves his new Scooter. He also got an Elmo book from Mamaw on moving into a big boy bed. Caleb said it's time to get a new baby in the crib. This time, though, no one else is moving into the crib. But, soon enough he will need a new bed and furniture to go with it.
They played with Mamaw a little while longer while I finished getting ready for our trip and then she was off (thanks, Mom, for the gifts!).
Ryan cracks us up. The other day, he got Caleb's Luigi costume out and put the hat on by himself. He then started to color (exactly what Caleb does). He is a little mini-Caleb in this picture, saying "cheese!"
And here he is with Daddy after his bath. He loves any time he gets to be with Daddy!
Daddy took a half day that day. I fed the boys lunch and then we all go into the minivan to head to the National Children's Museum in Maryland. I'll post pictures of that separately. We then checked into a hotel to spend the night. Here was pictures of our room. This is our bed:
Here was the dining room area: (Shawn thought the artwork was funny, so he tried to make it look like a hat on my head).
Here was the living room area:
Here was the small but efficient kitchen:
We didn't use the kitchen, though. We went to McDonald's for dinner, and Ryan ate his first cheeseburger (what he requested). Doesn't he look so grown up?!?! No high chair, eating a big boy burger all by himself?
Ryan slept well that night (and eventually the other boys went to sleep, even though they were WOUND UP at first and wouldn't go to bed). We had a great free breakfast at the hotel in the morning and then we left for the DC Zoo. Pictures of that to come!

So, we didn't have a big party for Ryan (he gets overwhelmed with big crowds at this age) but we tried to customize his birthday to him, going to the children's museum to play and then to the zoo to check out the animals. I think he enjoyed his 2nd birthday!
