Shawn's parents and younger sister Erica came into town for the Kennel Family Reunion up in Slate Run. We opted not to go this year with baby Ryan, but we will probably go next year for the last one they are hosting. They got into our neck of the woods the evening of Sunday, July 15, while we were at Emma's birthday party. Earlier that day we had tried Victory Church. And while we were impressed with the sermon, small atmosphere and style of worship, we were unimpressed with the childcare, unfortunately. Our older boys were in a classroom with 50 kids in what looked like a romper style atmosphere and the baby was with two dozen other children and only two workers. I realize that having too many kiddos to workers is part of the growing pains of a church, but we're not willing to sacrifice in this area. So, we'll continue to seek where God is calling us!
On Monday, Doug & Carol picked up the older two boys to enjoy them for the day. They went to the Kitchen Kettle Village and the pictures at the beginning of this post were from that outing. It looks like the kids had fun riding these cars on the track, walking around, making cookies and eating lunch with their grandparents, Aunt Erica and Aunt Missy.
They were tired once they came home!
Aunt Erica bought the older two boys these "Add-a-Kid" shirts. They were cowboys for the day!
She also had purchased this straw that's glasses, and we all tried it out. We were amazed at how cold it was!
Luckily, I love my husband - he looks like such a nerd in these glasses with his root beer!
That said, I don't look any better. And I NEVER drink regular soda, but Aunt Missy tried them with regular coke and I wanted to see how cold they were since everyone commented on it. Unfortunately my picture of Aunt Missy was fuzzy. :(
On their last night in town, we met them at the Leola Freeze & Frizz, and Ryan enjoyed some of their ice cream. I LOVE this shirt he's wearing - we've worn it often this summer. :)
YUM! Don't you love baby ice cream mustache?
