This afternoon I decided to take the boys to see Santa at the Mall, hearing that the lines were beyond overwhelming at night. As soon as Joshua was done with school, I called Mamaw to see if she'd like to join us (since today was the 5-year anniversary of Jamie's death, I thought maybe she'd want to get out and do something). She agreed, and we were delighted to see there was NO line at lunch time.
Ryan screamed his head off. He's usually so easygoing, but he cried like Santa had pinched him or he was sitting on a lap of needles. The other two boys smiled nicely and told Santa they would like Transformers (Joshua) and Angry Birds (Caleb). Ryan continued to scream like he found "who done it" until I scooped him up. I would say he's on Santa's naughty list for sure now...
After we were done, we grabbed cinnamon sugar pretzel sticks and then we headed to the Children's Place to look for jeans for Caleb. Joshua said "this place isn't for children - this is a clothing store!" He was highly offended. We left after that store, but it had been a productive outing.
