We decorated our Christmas tree the weekend after Thanksgiving, just like we normally do.
The kids were THRILLED to help this year!
At first, all the ornaments were put toward the bottom of the tree (and then we would move some of them up when the boys weren't looking to keep it more even).
The boys started asking where we would like things. I would say "if we have a red ball here and a green ball here, what color ball would look best next?" and they would reply "GOLD!" It was fun to do that with shapes, colors and patterns.
We waited until after Ryan was in bed (sorry, Schnook!).
Daddy agreed to take some pictures as we went.
We both agreed this is our favorite ornament still. Don't you love Caleb's expression in this 'ANGEL' ornament he made last year? I sent his preschool teacher from last year a thank you, telling her how much we still enjoy this craft!
This year, Mamaw & Papaw from Florida gave the boys a gingerbread train that lights up with all sorts of lights. They were THRILLED to watch it! I can't capture the lights with the camera, but it is pretty cool to look at. They were all but shaking with excitement watching it change colors!
And our stockings were hung by the fireplace (with care!).
Decorating for Christmas with a 4 and 6 year old is FUN!
And the boys took a picture of Shawn & me - LOVE him!!!
Ryan was THRILLED to see the tree the next day. Having a decorated tree with a one-year-old is not nearly as much fun as the older boys. We keep having to shoo him away from it. He loves to yank off the Christmas balls and steal the ornaments. Haaa!!! This too shall pass, though, I know!
Merry Christmas!
