Caleb turned 57-months old on Monday, April 8. Since I didn't post about it close enough to his birthday, I thought it might be fun to do a an average day in the life of Caleb in April 2013.
Caleb is consistently awake and out of bed between 6:30 and 7 am, and after he goes potty, he comes out and tells us that he kept his undies dry overnight and snuggles Daddy in our bed until Shawn gets up. Then Caleb will go to his dresser where his outfit that we picked out the night before is waiting for him. He'll get dressed and put his PJs in the 'jammy hamper' and then put on his socks and shoes and brush his teeth. He gets to play for a little while before we eat breakfast. I specifically do that last so the boys don't starve at school.
We always walk Joshua to school each morning at 8:45 am if it's a weekday. The Bean likes to be the first one in the door when the bell rings, so we try to be a little early. On Mondays, Caleb walks home with Ryan and me and we play puzzle books before going to the gym at 10:30. If it's a Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday, we get right into the minivan after walking Joshua to school and we drive Caleb to preschool. He consistently tells me he doesn't want to go because he'd rather stay home. But, when I pick him up from school, he always tells me how much fun he had. So, he keeps me guessing as to whether school has been an enjoyable experience for him. After getting Caleb (whether it's from the gym or from preschool), we go pick up Joshua from school. Then we come home and eat lunch. Nine out of 10 days, Caleb requests a PB&J sandwich that he can make himself if he feels like it. He doesn't always get his request, but that's usually what he wants to eat.
He & Joshua have a great time playing when they both get home from school. They love playing electronics and also enjoy playing with the Mario plush dolls that Great Grandma Good bought them for Christmas. If she only knew how much use these things have gotten! They were a GREAT gift!
Caleb enjoys being a helper and will often help set the table at dinner time. His favorite dinner food is noodles, plain, with parmesan cheese. He also loves butter bread. He drinks a ton of water, too. He also loves peanut butter crackers for snack.
He is currently wearing 5/6 or just plain 6 shirts and size 6 adjustable waist pants. All of his 5 or 5T things are far too small and short and have gone into a bin in the attic for Ryan to wear in a couple years. Caleb is also wearing a size 1 shoe and just got new Crocs for the summer (thanks, Mamaw!). He is super excited to wear them.
Caleb has a great giggle, loves to play games, and still enjoys spending one-on-one time with me playing. He also likes to take trips to the store with Daddy and spend quality time together. He is growing to be a really neat kiddo with such a fun laugh and silly personality.
The other day he was in Sunday school and when he came out he said, "Mommy, they taught the lesson of the story you just told me on our walk." Well, I had no idea which story I had just told them, but he remembered the lesson about Saul becoming Paul and being blind while Jesus was truly opening his eyes to see. I loved that Caleb remembered the story and put the two together. He is truly soaking in things even when I don't realize it.
Happy 57-month birthday, Caleb Luke!

OMG! I can't believe that Caleb is wearing those sizes! Ben is still in a size 10 shoe and is still wearing some of his 4 pants! That's crazy. He is mostly a 5t at this point. I didn't even notice at Easter, but Caleb has to be taller than Ben, right? :~
