Truth: Day 24

Philippians 2:5-8

⁵ In your relationships with one another, have the same mindset as Christ Jesus:
⁶ Who, being in very nature God,
    did not consider equality with God something to be used to his own advantage;
⁷ rather, he made himself nothing
    by taking the very nature of a servant,
    being made in human likeness.
⁸ And being found in appearance as a man,
    he humbled himself
    by becoming obedient to death—
        even death on a cross!

I'll be honest in saying that we didn't complete day 24 of the Truth in the Tinsel project until after Christmas. We got sick and then busy...BUT, I did want to finish the project. So, we read the verse above and talked about why Jesus - being God - would come to earth. Caleb said it was because He loved us, and Joshua said it was to save us from our sin. Yes, both answers were correct. We made these pipe-cleaner and bead crosses to remind us of Jesus' purpose for coming to earth. The boys enjoyed this craft! And they sang "Jesus Loves the Little Children" as they were creating it - I think the colors of the beads reminded them of this tune... 'red and yellow, black and white, they are precious in His sight.'
